Recording and mixing metal & heavy music
Metal and heavy music demand clarity under high gain, controlled low end, aggressive but musical drums, and vocals that cut without becoming harsh. The mix has to stay powerful on small speakers and still feel huge on a real system.
At Violet Vista we track and mix heavy music regularly. That includes tight rhythm guitars, modern and organic drum approaches, layered vocals, and the parallel processing that gives metal its weight without turning the whole song into noise.
